The Microsoft Xbox Design Patent

Microsoft's new frontier, video games, was initiated with the debut of the Xbox in 2001. This design patent protects the Xbox - a unique box with an X on it. Though critics were skeptical of its success when it first came out, the Xbox has become a dominant part of the video gaming industry. Much of its success is due to the Microsoft-made game Halo, which is exclusively compatible with the Xbox. The Xbox's evolved predecessor, the Xbox 360, stands strong today next to the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Nintendo Wii.
